In this course, students will learn about breathing mechanics and exercises, starting with the fundamentals of proper breathing. The curriculum covers general breathing anatomy and how breathing impacts the nervous system.

During the course, we will explore various breathing exercises, including coherent breathing exercises, beginners Bhastrika, Kapalabhati, Uddiyana, and various Alternate Nostril Pranayama techniques. The foundation of Alternate Nostril Pranayama will be emphasized to teach students how to slow down their breath and understand the yogic principles underlying pranayama, along with its effects on the body and mind. Instruction will be provided on using mudras for nervous system control and mastering proper counting techniques.

Additionally, we will discuss the importance of practicing and breathing correctly in different yoga postures, as each asana engages different muscles. Understanding the integration of proper breathing techniques is essential for a holistic yoga practice.

Towards the end of the course, students will have the opportunity to set personal goals and design their own pranayama practice to achieve their desired results. The class will conclude with a Q&A session and the practice of Bhramari Pranayama.
